About me

My name is Glenn Karlsson and I am a thinker. Kezo is a nickname of me, so that’s the reason I have chosen the title ”Kezo The Thinker” for this website. I was born and raised in the community of Askim, which is located just south of Gothenburg on the Swedish west coast. I still live there, I just feel that Askim is the place for me to live, it’s simply the place I belong to. You also belong to a place, do you live there?

When I was young, I thought I would become a physicist. But during my studies in physics at the University of Gothenburg, I became interested in the philosophy of quantum mechanics. This interest led me to take a course in theoretical philosophy. During this course I was introduced to formal logic and got very fascinated about it. So, logic therefore became my next subject, I actually studied it for a whole year. If you don’t know, formal logic was mainly developed by Gottlob Frege in the late 19th century, it simply describes the rules we follow when we reason, or one can say that it provides a descriptive explanation of how human reason works.

When I finished my studies in logic, I tried to go back to my studies in physics again. However, I quickly realized that my interest in physics had died within me, this because my interest had now completely shifted to man and his nature. So, I therefore started to study economics instead. You may not be aware of it, but economics is in fact a behavioral science, this because economists’ study how people behave under scarce resources. Anyway, during my studies in economics I realized that the values of the shares on the stock market were not rational at all, they were all emotional. I simply realized that, it is the emotions of investors that determine the prices on the stock market. People simply get worried to lose money or excited to make a profit. Furthermore, this insight then led me to realize that all values are emotional, and that it therefore should be possible to develop a basic mechanism of valuation. However later I realized that this mechanism have a much greater explanatory potential than I had been able to imagine, this mechanism actually have the ability to explain all values, all emotions and all drift for all life. I therefore baptized this mechanism ”The basic mechanism of life” and this mechanism is what this site is all about.

The creation or development of ”The basic mechanism of life” is it’s actually an attempt to do exactly the same thing with human emotions that Frege did with human reason. That is, my aim has been to provide a descriptive explanation of how human emotions work. So, there are simply no prescriptive normative elements in this mechanism. That is, it says nothing about how you should act, neither ethically nor to achieve your goals. The mechanism "only" explains why you act the way you do. In fact, I believe that it is not possible to create correct normative prescriptive principles of action. I'm actually convinced that it is precisely the attempt to create such principles of action that has led philosophers to get lost throughout history.

I also enjoy creating photographic art. The picture of the thinker above is actually a photography that I have shot by myself, it is simply a self-portrait of myself. This picture is of course inspired by well known The Thinker statue made by Auguste Rodin and it’s really a good representation or characterization of who I am.

I have posted some of my other photos on my instagram account @instagramisten, just click on the link below if you want to check it out,

Workout is also a big part of my life, I workout several times a week and have basically done so ever since I was a teenager. I think it is important to develop both one's body and one's mind, this because they are not separate entities. If you exercise your body it will definitely give positive effekts on your mind. The photo above and the Wolverine inspired photo below was taken att the summer of 2019.
